Risks associated with litter picking on stairs:
Litter picking of stairs can cause: slip, trips, falls, over reacting, strains.
Those itself will cause: bruises, broken limbs, ligament damage, potential for fatality or major or minor injuries.
E-State operative: to be trained in safe working method statement of litter picking and this must be documented and recorded. Contributes: to increased slips, trips, falls, increase the risk for car and vehicle accidents resulting in strains, serious impact, broken bones, cuts, abrasion resulting in major or over 2 days injuries.
E-State operative: to be trained in safe working method of work of litter picking and all these must be of course documented and recorded. Operative must wear at all time hi-visibility vest, all weather conditions must be checked before commence any outdoor tasks.
What to be done: All manager, supervisors or client to carry out checks to ensure that safe system of work is being put in place and that the operative is using controls.
